How to use

1. Enter a tax rate in "Tax rate (%)" or pick a preset button (10% / 8% / 0%)
2. Enter an amount in "Price (excl. tax)" to auto-calculate the tax-inclusive total and tax amount
3. Enter an amount in "Price (incl. tax)" to auto-calculate the tax-exclusive base and tax amount

Tax-inclusive total = price × (1 + rate ÷ 100). The two input fields are independent — you can use either one on its own.

Example

With a 10% rate and 1000 entered as the tax-exclusive price, the total is 1,100 and the tax amount is 100.

FAQ

Does it support Japan's reduced tax rate (8%)?

Yes, select the 8% preset button or type "8" directly.

How are fractional amounts handled?

Results are shown with up to 2 decimal places. Actual invoices may apply a business's own rounding rule (round down, round to nearest, etc.), so check the official invoice for the exact amount.

Can this be used for currencies other than Japanese yen?

Yes, the calculation is a plain rate-based formula independent of currency, so it works for any currency.

Is my data stored anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser and disappears when you reload the page.
